Teriyaki Turkey Burgers with Grilled Pineapple
These Teriyaki Turkey Burgers with Grilled Pineapple are going to elevate your burger game. I’ve spent many a year dousing dry, dull turkey burgers in ketchup and trying to convince myself they were satisfying...but those days are no more! Trust me. This recipe is the solution to those dry pucks we sometimes call turkey burgers. These burgers are so moist and flavorful, even my beef burger loyalist boyfriend loved them (which is honestly saying something).
The turkey burgers are juicy and tender, the sweetness from the pineapple compliments the flavorings in the burger oh so well, and the slight spicy kick from the Sweet Chili Aioli pulls it all together.
Coconut aminos teriyaki sauce, a little bit of hoisin, fresh ginger, garlic and scallions are what jam pack these burgers with flavor. I opted for coconut amino based teriyaki and hoisin, but you can always use regular. The Sweet Chili Aioli is also made using just a few simple ingredients such as avocado oil mayo, sweet chili sauce, cayenne, and lime. It’s spicy and sweet, and so easy to whip up.
Grilling the pineapple really helps to bring out the flavor and softens them up, making them easier to bite into too. Serve these up with a side of sweet potato fries and you have yourself a killer dinner!

Teriyaki Turkey Burger with Grilled Pineapple
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients
For the burger:
1 lb ground turkey
1 ½ tbsp Coconut Aminos Teriyaki Sauce (I used this one)
1 tsp hoisin (also coconut aminos based)
2 green onions, chopped
2 tsp chopped garlic
1 tbsp grated ginger
4 rings of pineapple
2 tbsp avocado oil (or any cooking oil, this one just has a high smoke point)
For the Sweet Chili Aioli:
1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
¼ cup avocado oil mayo
½ tsp cayenne
Juice from ½ lime
¼ tsp red chili flakes
Instructions:
In a large bowl, add the turkey, teriyaki sauce, hoisin, green onion, garlic, and ginger. With your hands, mix everything together until well combined. Put a little oil on your hands and then form 4 palm sized patties (the oil helps prevent the meat from sticking to your hands).
Heat the oil over medium-high heat on a grill pan. Once hot, place the burgers on the pan and cook for ~5 minutes each side, or until cooked all the way through and the internal temperature has reached 165°F.
In the meantime, add the sweet chili sauce, mayo, cayenne, lime juice and chili flakes to a small bowl. Whisk until completely mixed and sauce is formed.
Once the burgers are done, remove from the grill pan and set aside. Place the pineapple rings on the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear.
Assemble burgers with sauce, pineapple, and any other toppings you prefer. Serve and enjoy!
